I think everyone probably knows the story by now, but in case anyone doesn't here it is :)
April 14th my contractions started around lunch time (my friend Shelley's birthday and she was just asking a few days before if she would share a birthday with Baby Frederick and I didn't think she would).
They were about 20 minutes apart for a few hours so I didn't think much of it. They just felt like menstrual cramps and it was in my back as well. However I did call Logan to have him come home instead of going to golf after work around 2 or so. Logan called me before he came home around 3:45 and the contractions were about 10 minutes apart so I called my Dr's office to see if I should go in yet since my water hadn't broke. They called back and said to go ahead and go to the hospital (worse case they send me home). On the drive to the hospital my contractions were getting closer together and I think Logan was starting to get nervous. Once we arrived at the hospital we were notified that it was a popular day to go into labor (we actually had to wait a few minutes for them to clean one of the triage beds). I finally got to lay down and the nurse checked me to see how far I was and we were shocked when she told me I was already 8 centimeters dilated (you have to be 10 centimeters to start pushing). The nurse then asked how long I labored at home for and was a little shocked when I told her that my contractions started around lunchtime, she also asked if I wanted any drugs (which I did, but I was fine without them as my contractions hurt but I could breath through them). Needless to say that I got an IV and was rushed to a labor and delivery room. My water ended up breaking about an hour or so after I got to the hospital. The nurse then told me that I might not be able to get an epidural since I was so far along, after she checked me again she confirmed that I probably wouldn't be able to sit up due to Elsa's head being so far down and the fact that my contractions were so close together I wouldn't be able to hold still. Surprisingly I was doing very well through the contractions. Logan was AWESOME! He was very attentive and was there to put pressure on my lower back, as that was the only thing that really helped with the pain. A short time later I was ready to push, the urge was like no other. A Dr. came in to delivery in case my Dr. didn't arrive for the delivery. I pushed once and then my Dr. arrived :) After he arrived I pushed two more times before Elsa arrived at 7:22pm!
I know that every mother out there is going to kill me for saying this, but I didn't think it was that bad (I would totally go through it again, even though I know there is no guarantee that it will be similar). I think that having it go so quickly helped and just the high of the hormones (endorphins or whatever).
